Big Bear Lake, CA, February 8, 2013 – The Public Information Officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says ground crews will continue searching for fugitive Christopher Dorner on Saturday and keep evaluating the situation. In addition to searching the forest where his vehicle was found, armed crews have been methodically searching a total of 600 empty vacation cabins. After a round-the-clock search Thursday, Friday’s operations were somewhat hampered by heavy snow and lack of air support. An additional dozen two-men units will continue to patrol the Big Bear Valley to supplement the usual patrol.
Dorner’s Nissan Titan has been turned over to the police department in Irvine, where he attacked the first of his victims. It will be up to the Irvine PD to release any information on the vehicle.
