Lake Williams/Erwin Lake, CA — The Lake Williams area is currently without power, due to a construction incident taking place just before 4pm today (Tuesday, May 25). Per John Dykesten, Operations Supervisor for Bear Valley Electric Service, a dumptruck dumping large rocks (perhaps from the Big Bear dam site) onto Forest Service road 2N12 just south of Erwin lake, snagged electrical lines in the area, breaking a power pole. This has resulted in a loss of power for all Lake Williams area customers of BVES. Dykesten tells KBHR that crews are on scene to restore electricity to the area and restore the power pole, though this project will likely take a minimum of five hours (as of 4pm).
