Big Bear Lake, CA, January 19, 2013 – Music programs have been shown to increase students’ math and reading abilities, critical thinking skills and self-discipline – yet budget cuts continue to reduce such programs around the country. That’s why groups like The Young Americans, which has been providing music education and performance opportunities to youth since the 1960s, are more important than ever.
The Young Americans are returning to Big Bear this month as part of their International Outreach Tour, offering a three-day workshop beginning Sunday, January 27 at the Performing Arts Center and culminating in a concert the following Tuesday. Students in grades three through 12 are invited to apply online at www.regonline.com/Big Bear.

Members of The Young Americans comprise all races and religions on the planet, and they are dedicated to the promotion of understanding and goodwill among people throughout the world through music, dance, academic education and cultural interaction.
