Tribute artist Jim Curry, whose voice was heard in the CBS-TV movie Take Me Home: The John Denver Story, has performed Denver’s music in sold out shows throughout the country and has emerged as today’s top performer of Denver’s vast legacy of multi-platinum hits.
On September 5, 2009, Jim Curry reprises his tribute to this singer/songwriter at the Discovery Center Amphitheater. The show will take you back to when “Rocky Mountain High” “Sunshine” “Calypso” and “Annie’s Song” topped the charts.
Gates open at 5:30pm; concert will begin at 7:00pm. Bench seating is limited; beach chairs are recommended for the open and casual seating areas. Bill Knick’s Café will feature sandwiches, salads, snacks, sodas, and waters. A beer, wine and margarita bar will also be available. Parking is free and available on a first-come basis. Overflow parking is planned at Meadows Edge with complimentary shuttle service as directed by the volunteer parking staff.
Tickets are still available through the online box office at SBNFA.org or at the Discovery Center Adventure Outpost, and the ticket hotline is (909) 382-2780. Adult prices are $20 (18+), tickets for ages 13-17 are $10 and children 12 and under are free.
Music in the Mountains 2009 Summer Concert series is presented by the San Bernardino National Forest Association and Coldwell Banker, The Tim Wood Group. Additional sponsors are the City of Big Bear Lake, Northwoods Resort, and Big Bear Mountain Resorts.
Proceeds from the series will benefit Forest Aid, a forest restoration program on the San Bernardino National Forest, and The Lighthouse Project, a local nonprofit with funds earmarked for their Peace Gardens project in Big Bear Elementary Schools.
