Apple Valley, CA, December 17, 2015 – California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department and Apple Valley Fire Protection District officials responded to a head-on crash on Highway 18 early Tuesday that left 32-year-old Jimany Misouk, of Big Bear Lake dead and two others, including an off-duty Sheriff’s deputy, severely injured.
The crash occurred near Lovelace Canyon Road was first reported at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday morning. According to CHP officials, Stanley Conway, an off-duty Big Bear Sheriff’s station deputy, was headed westbound on Highway 18 when he lost control of his Ford Ranger. For reasons still under investigation, the Ford Ranger traveled from the westbound lane into the eastbound traffic lane where it struck a silver Subaru Legacy head on.
The driver of the Subaru, Jimany Misouk of Big Bear Lake, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A front passenger in the Subaru, Chris Lawson, also from Big Bear, suffered major injuries and was flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. The Fire Dept. used the Jaws of Life to extract Conway from his truck. He also suffered major injuries and was flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
