Big Bear City, CA, March 21, 2012, 1:00pm – The Community Arts Theater Society of Big Bear Valley, known as CATS, will present an original variety show, “BEARLY BROADWAY” written by Robin Field and Karen Sargent Rachels to commemorate the opening their 2012 season beginning on Friday, March 23rd through April 1st for seven performances. The show will also be the Grand Opening of the new CATS Warehouse Theater, which caps six years of planning and building by the all-volunteer theatrical organization. “BEARLY BROADWAY” will be the first theatrical event presented in the new facility on the new stage. Karen Sargent Rachels, producer for CATS is quoted as saying “It’s really hard to believe that we survived the last six years and actually built a theater …. from scratch! We didn’t remodel an old church… or an old movie theater. We built a whole new one! And we fulfilled our dream not only of having our own theater… but also having a place for us to build our sets and store our costumes! I hope our Big Bear community is impressed. It’s an incredible accomplishment by many, many wonderful volunteers and very generous donors. Thank you!” The new CATS Warehouse Theater is located at 1117 W. Big Bear Blvd in Big Bear City, one block East of Division, next to The Broadway Café. Tickets for performances of “BEARLY BROADWAY” are $15.00 and, as seating is limited, advance ticket purchases are recommended. Call 585-4757 or purchase on-line at www.bigbeartheater.org. Parking is available at Riffenburgh Lumber Co, Tulip Lane, La Paws Restaurant, Select Foods, The Broadway Café and on the Aeroplane side of the Warehouse Theater.
