Big Bear, Ca, October 8, 2010, 8:00am – Visitors and mountain community members are invited to attend the National Forest Association’s Feast of the Harvest Moon Festival October 23, 2010 from 10am- 2pm at the Big Bear Discovery Center in Fawnskin. The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary of exploring Native American heritage through arts, crafts, dancing and storytelling. Attendees will be treated to traditional medicine and food demonstrations including acorn processing and much more. Throughout the day guests can join in the fun at craft booths where they can make dream catchers, rain sticks and have their face painted. Dancers Elaine Meyers and Terry Goedel and story Teller John 3 Hawks will share the rich heritage of the Native Americans of Southern California. Visitors may also participate in nature walks guided by Big Bear Discovery Center volunteers. The festival is free for all to attend. For more information call 909-382-2790.
