Big Bear Lake, Ca, May 13, 2016 – The Big Bear Chamber’s Excellence in Business Awards, otherwise known as “The Ebbies”, are awarded to businesses who exemplify what it takes to be excellent in business in Big Bear Valley. The purpose of the Ebbies is to recognize and celebrate local excellence in business, which inspires other businesses to follow suit.
From a list of potential candidates, a committee worked to identify the three “Excellence in Business” award recipients based on how well they demonstrate the following selection criteria. The business must be located within the greater Big Bear Valley. Any type of business qualifies, including home-based and service businesses. The nominee must be a Chamber member in good standing prior to the end of the calendar year to be considered and must remain a Chamber member in good standing through the date of the awards ceremony. The business must show growth and strong financial performance, including growth in revenues and employees, over a period of years and have strategies in place for long-term sustainability. The business demonstrates operational excellence within the business to optimize performance and excellence in customer service. The business has faced challenges and/or taken risks, and has overcome them. The business provides illustrations of foresightedness or creativity in the business. Changes in the competitive environment are anticipated and embraced through continuous improvement and innovation in all aspects of the business. The business demonstrates community involvement and contribution, and has a positive image and impact on the community. The business collaborates and/or partners with other Big Bear Valley businesses to further their benefit the business and Big Bear Valley overall.
The three honorees are Action Tours, Nottinghams Restaurant & Tavern and Summit Dental.
KBHR Radio & Outdoor will also be honored with a special Summit Award recognizing its significant and sustained contributions to the Big Bear Valley economy.
The Ebbies are awarded Tuesday, June 7, during the Chamber’s annual Salute to Business Breakfast & Annual General Meeting at the Big Bear Lake Elks Lodge. To attend the event, RSVP no later than May 20 by calling the Chamber office. Seating is limited.
