Big Bear Lake, CA, September 21, 2013 – Harold Camping proclaimed May 21, 2011 as the Judgement Day, but he wasn’t the first to herald a Rapture that never came. In Apocalypse Later, Filmmaker Zeke Peistrup has scholars from Yale Divinity School, UNC Dept of Religious Studies, Princeton Seminary and Westminster Seminary weigh in on the end of days, tracing the roots of end-times proclamations from the Book of Daniel, to the historical Jesus, then to the Apostle Paul.
The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival screens Apocalypse Later at Village Theaters in Big Bear Lake on Sunday, September 22 at 9:30 a.m. and goes on to the Society of Biblical Literature in November.
Zeke graduated from Big Bear High School and went on to major in journalism at USC. He was the recipient of the 2013 Promising New Filmmaker Award at the Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival and the 2013 Future Filmmaker Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
