Big Bear Lake, CA, January 17, 2014 – This Valentine’s Day, the Big Bear Lake Rotary Club Foundation and the Bear Valley Hospital Foundation will present the Sweetheart Ball at Northwoods Resort. The festivities on February 14th will start with cocktails at 5pm, followed by dinner at 6:00. Guests can dance to the “Sounds of Frank Sinatra” by the Pete Chinelli Trio, and enjoy complimentary wine with dinner. Dress for the evening is Black Tie Optional or “Big Bear Formal.”
All proceeds from the Sweetheart Ball will be donated to the Bear Valley Community Hospital for the refurbishment of hospital patient rooms. The local Rotary Club is matching a $1,750 grant from Rotary International, but more is needed for the renovations. It costs around $10,000 to update a single room, and several rooms need updating.
Tickets are $50 per person or $450 for a table of 10. Every $50 (whether as a ticket purchase or a donation) earns one entry into a drawing for a “Romantic Overnight Package.” Attendance at the event is not necessary to win.
Tax-deductible donations may be mailed directly to the Hospital Foundation President Helen Walsh at P.O. Box 120803, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 with a notation on the check for the “hospital renovation project”.
