Big Bear Lake, CA, August 8, 2013 — Over 500 roadsters, classics, antiques and hot rods will line the Village streets this weekend during the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club’s annual Fun Run and Car Show. This popular event is free to spectators, who can view the vehicles between 9:00 and 3:45. At 3:45, the autos will proceed west from the Village to caravan around the lake, on highways lined with car enthusiasts cheering them on. The award ceremony is set for 9:00 Sunday morning in the Bartlett lot.
Schedule of Events
Saturday, August 10:
7:30 AM – Gates open for show cars to enter.
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Judges review the cars.
12:00 PM – Judges turn in their results.
2:30 PM(ish) – Award winners will be posted.
3:00 PM – Draw for the “50-50 raffle” prize. Winner must be present.
3:45 PM – The west gate will open for the “Cruise around the Lake.” This caravan will head west on Hwy. 18, cross the dam, proceed east on Hwy. 38, through Fawnskin, then turn right onto North Shore Lane where all drivers will receive a surprise gift before cruising back to the Village.
5:00 PM – Return the streets and Bartlett lot to normal traffic.
Sunday, August 11:
7:00 AM – Gates open for the Awards Ceremony.
9:00 AM – The 60-minute Awards Ceremony will highlight the finest cars in our show. Engine Drawing follows the Awards Ceremony. Winner need not be present.
The Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club was founded in 1982 to indulge an interest in vintage automobiles and raise money for charities in the Big Bear valley. The non-profit organization raises between $15,000 and $20,000 annually for local groups providing community services.
The car show’s economic impact to the City of Big Bear Lake is also substantial, with up to 15,000 spectators dining and shopping in the downtown area.
