Fawnskin, CA, June 24, 2013 – The Southern California Mountains Foundation is bringing the Music in the Mountains summer concert series back to the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater with three concert dates: June 29, July 20 and August 31. Now in its 9th season, the series is a fundraiser for restoration in the San Bernardino National Forest, America’s most visited national forest.
“We’re launching with our biggest show on June 29 filled with classic rock tribute to some of the best music and harmony ever written or performed,” exclaimed Kathy Clapsaddle, event producer and development director, Southern California Mountains Foundation. “We’re leading off with tributes to America, Creedence Clearwater and the Eagles all in one show performing the music by classic rock legends who defined a generation.” she added.
Now a signature act of Music in the Mountains, The Long Run, Experience the Eagles, is regarded as one of the finest Eagles tributes in the world. Marked by lush vocal harmonies and exceptional musical accuracy, every Long Run performance delivers a reverence for the Eagles’ beloved studio recordings with The Long Run’s own live concert energy. Special guests include A Band with No Name up on the horse and ridin’ into the California classic rock sunset featuring members of The Long Run with Kenny Cetera, brother of Chicago’s Peter Cetera, offering the classics such as “Ventura Highway”,” A Horse with No Name”, “Sister Golden Hair” and more. This tribute has the seal of approval from America’s Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell. And, Fortunate Son, performing the monster hits of John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival including “Suzy Q”, “Proud Mary”, “Heard it Through the Grapevine” and many more that defined the late 60’s and into the 70’s. Each band will pack their greatest hits into a 1 hour show each with a break in between for guests to catch their breath.
Parking and ticket gates will open at 5:00pm all shows. General admission parking is free and available at Meadows Edge Trail Head located ¼ mile west of the Discovery Center entrance. Free shuttles will run from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Complimentary handicap parking will be available on a first-come basis at the Discovery Center with appropriate tag or license plate as space permits.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.MountainsFoundation.org, the Discovery Center Adventure Outpost and at the event gate. Season passes and bench seat packages with parking for June 29 are SOLD OUT; however, general admission tickets are available. Tickets for the June 29 show: $29 adults, $10 for teens (13-17) and free to youth 12 and under. Music-loving dogs on leashes are welcome.

Music in the Mountains is presented by the Southern California Mountains Foundation.
