Big Bear Lake, CA, October 29, 2012 – With Veterans Day coming up, a jeep club built around the military community of San Diego is headed to Big Bear.
The 4X4 Corps treats injured Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines with recreation as part of their recovery. Their second annual event – Off Roading for Our Heroes II — will take place in Big Bear on Veterans Day weekend, November 9-11, 2012. The club will bring up Wounded Warriors from Balboa Naval hospital and the Wounded Warrior Battalion Camp Pendleton for Jeep runs.
The event will include trail runs, raffles and entertainment on November 10, and all proceeds will benefit injured veterans through the support they receive from the well known nonprofit organization, the Warrior Foundation.
Off Roading for Our Heroes II currently has the proud support of the National Forest Service, Congressman Duncan Hunter’s office, The American Legion, the Elks and Moose Lodges, Warrior Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Battalion West.
Last year 28 Wounded Warriors and their families got a much-needed break from hospital rehabilitation. This YouTube video shows one of the American heroes helped by this program: http://youtu.be/QpvHZ-LvyF8
