Big Bear Lake, CA, June 22, 2016 – Shortly before noon today, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a fire in the 200 block of North Starvation Flats Road in Big Bear Lake. Witnesses reported that the fire started immediately after two subjects left the area in a vehicle. Deputies conducted an area check and located the vehicle and subjects matching the description that was provided by witnesses. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 47-year-old Lori Goetz and 30-year-old Dominique Deangelis, both local residents of Big Bear Valley. Through investigation, deputies determined Deangelis started the fire, and additionally found illegal narcotics on both subjects in the course of a search incident to arrest. Dominique Deangelis was booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of starting a fire and possession of a controlled substance. He remains in custody in lieu of $25,000 bail, with an arraignment hearing set for this Friday. Lori Goetz was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of illegal narcotics, pending a court hearing in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
