Big Bear, CA, April 18th, 2016 – Big Bear Boulevard may be a bit tricky for motorists to negotiate this summer, but it’s all part of a series of necessary upgrades to service the community.
Phase II of Bear Valley Electric Service’s underground power line project was recently completed, and Phase III is next, with work between Georgia Street and Fox Farm Road.
The Regional Traffic Advisory Committee meeting delivered an update on April 14 to the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, suggesting that Big Bear Boulevard might resemble a “slalom course” this summer.
Big Bear Lake Department of Water is expected to begin pipeline work along the boulevard in June, working in conjunction with Southwest Gas, which also has a project scheduled.
General Manager Reggie Lamson said that work will halt during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. He said the DWP pipeline project includes Thrush Drive and Fox Farm Road.
