Big Bear Valley, CA — Third District County Supervisor Neil Derry will be contributing to the efforts of Big Bear Recovery Service’s Breakthrough Task Force, the local group which has partnered with the Rim Youth Prevention Leadership Coalition to establish a Social Host Ordinance within the County and, specifically, our mountain communities. The Breakthrough Task Force is hosting a community forum on Tuesday, May 25; the 6:30pm event at the Big Bear Discovery Center will focus on the issue of underage drinking, and potential solutions, among them the Social Host Ordinance that has been drafted through a partnership with local agencies that include the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Forest Service. County Supervisor Derry will be the keynote speaker for the event on Tuesday, and local organizers with Big Bear Recovery Services are hoping for community participation in this, the ongoing effort to curb teen drinking and access to alcohol.
