Big Bear, Ca, February 24, 2011, 8:00am – The following is an update regarding nine of the victims of the February 21st bus crash that took place on Highway 189. A total of nine victims from the bus accident were transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, four of those people were treated and released late Monday. A 12-year-old girl who was considered the most seriously injured, is showing some improvement in neurological function, according to ARMC Medical Director Dr. Dev Gnanadev. She has been upgraded from very critical to critical. A 17-year-old boy has been upgraded from critical to fair, and a 28-year-old female has been upgraded from critical to good condition. Dr. Gnanadev indicated that doctors plan to transfer the 12-year-old girl today to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles or Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. KBHR has not received any updates regarding the victims who were taken to Loma Linda or San Bernardino County Hospital.
