Big Bear City, CA, March 11, 2013 – Kim Sweet is back as Museum Curator for the Big Bear Valley Historical Society, and she’ll be the featured speaker at its next general meeting. The public is invited to attend March 14 at 7 p.m. at the Discovery Center to hear her plans for the museum and its contents.
The Historical Society does not have a field trip planned for March, but there are still spots available on the overnight bus trip in May to Las Vegas and the Mob Museum. The museum, housed in a 3-story building that was once the post office and federal courthouse, provides in-depth exhibits on the history of organized crime in America, as well as the resultant law enforcement efforts to combat it. The excursion will cost approximately $110 per person/$160 per couple, which includes bus transportation, lodging and museum fees.
