Big Bear, Ca, September 28, 2010, 12:00pm – The 11th annual Big Bear Lake Shoreline Clean-up this past weekend was a big success. According to Alan Sharp, Shoreline Clean-up organizer, “178 volunteers picked up 289 pounds of trash from the shores of Big Bear Lake.” Sierra club volunteers served as site captains for the clean up, and co-coordinated the clean up efforts of middle and high students from Covina, Rialto, Ontario and the Big Bear Valley. During the 11 years of Shoreline Clean-up, over 2100 volunteers have cleared over 17,000 pounds of trash from the shores of Big Bear Lake. “The birds, mammals, and fish that call Big Bear Lake their home, thank all who have participated, for truly making a difference,” said Sharp, “this was a great event.”
