Big Bear, Ca, October 27, 2010, 3:00pm – This year, Bear Valley Search & Rescue presents ‘Halloween in the Village’ on Sunday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. ‘Halloween in the Village’ provides a safe environment for children of all ages to dress up to ‘trick or treat.’ Many village stores and valley organizations are collaborating to make this a fun and safe event. Not only will there be many opportunities for candy, but there will be various attractions and costume contests. Public safety will be provided by the Bear Valley Search & Rescue, Citizens on Patrol, Bear Valley Cert and the Civil Air Patrol. Be sure to dress you’re your children in warm clothes under their costumes, good walking shoes, and paint their faces rather than use masks, as they can restrict their vision. Bring a flashlight and bag for all the goodies. The roads will be closed to traffic at 4:00pm and will re-open at approximately 8:30pm. If your local organization or business wishes to get involved or for more information, please contact Peter Fulkerson at (909) 866-6186 or Michael Westover (909) 747-4115.
