Big Bear Lake, CA, August 26, 2013 — The 18th Annual Run for the Grizzlies is scheduled for September 7, 2013 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm at a new host location: Northwoods Resort & Conference Center.
The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo invites the motorcycling public to participate in this fundraiser supporting the Zoo’s grizzly bears. The ride around the lake will include seven Poker stops and a stop at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo to visit the grizzlies. There will also be live music, raffles, prizes, a Chapter Challenge, vendors, drinks and an expanded BBQ venue.
The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo was formed in 1989 as a non-profit public benefit corporation whose purpose is to support the Big Bear Alpine Zoo through: Educating the public on the treatment, protection, and conservation of wildlife; recruiting and coordinating volunteers; and fundraising.
The cost to sign up for Run for the Grizzlies is $25 for rider #1 and $20 for rider #2, which includes a Poker Run Pin & T-Shirt. Registration can be done either on event day from 9:30 am to noon at Northwoods, or online.
