Two Rounds of Blasting for Bridge Project Will Prompt Additional Delays on Highway 18 Thursday; Road Work Continues on Big Bear Boulevard

More blasting at the Big Bear bridge, with two rounds scheduled for today (Thursday, September 17). The first will take place between 10am and noon, the second blast between noon and 2pm. These blasts near the dam on Highway 18 will account for additional delays, so allow extra time if taking Highway 18 down the front way today, any time between 10am and 2pm.
Motorists can also expect ongoing delays on the Boulevard, between Bear City and Boulder Bay, weekdays through the end of the month. As of this morning, motorists taking the Boulevard east at Stanfield Cutoff were being redirected to the North Shore so, again, plan for delays on Big Bear Boulevard this morning and through month’s end, with flagging scheduled from 8am to 3pm each weekday.
