Big Bear Lake, CA, October 18, 2013 – The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce announced this week that Executive Director Rachel Wade has tendered her resignation. Wade started in March of 2012; her last day will be November 15, 2013.
Wade said, “I have to say that resigning from the Chamber was a very hard choice to make. The Chamber is a very important part of our business community and a valuable resource for all. I have really enjoyed working with my board and the members. I made this choice with a heavy heart but I need to do what is right for my daughter.” Wade told KBHR she’d been working almost since the day her four-year-old daughter was born, and that she plans to do consultant work from home to be around her more.
Board Chairman Marlene Cain said, “Rachel has accomplished much in a short time, and while we are disappointed to see her go, we respect her decision.”
The Board of Directors has initiated the process that will lead to the next Executive Director.
