UPDATE at 12:20pm:
Power has been restored to a majority of the east side of Big Bear City. Power is still out in the areas of Erwin Lake and Lake Williams, and will continue to be out until crews are completed with repairs. Bear Valley Electric is estimating 8 -10 hours to fix broken power lines. Road crews have cleared the tree out of the roadway, and are conducting one way flagging on the roadway. It will continue until repairs are completed.
Big Bear, Ca, March 20, 2011, 11:15am –According to Bear Valley Electric, currently all of Erwin Lake, Lake Williams, and parts of East Big Bear City are without power due to a large tree that fell on highway 38 due to high winds. Bear Valley Electric Crews have been sent out to fix the problem. There is not a timeline for when power will return at this time. There is a small detour for those traveling on Highway 38. We will have more information for you as we receive it.
