Big Bear, Ca, October 5, 2011, 9:00am-
This Friday night the Big Bear Lake Convention Center will host Local’s Night at Oktoberfest starting at 6:00pm. Every year on local’s night Oktoberfest gives back to a community organization. In previous years proceeds were given to the Mom & Dad Project and the Big Bear Valley Historical Museum. This year North Shore Christian Pre-School will receive proceeds from the night’s admissions. The North Shore Christian Pre-School has been in operation since 1981 and has provided early child development education for more than 1,000 Bear Valley children over the years. “We offer a well-rounded educational program that includes math, science, language development, Bible studies and socialization,” said Patrice Carlisle, the school’s Director. Local’s Night festivities will feature a live authentic band from Frankonia, Germany, the Big Bear Lake Polka Tots, and all the traditional ongoing events including log sawing, and stein holding contest. Local’s Night is open to everyone. Admission is $3.00 for adults and FREE for children 12 and under. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the fun continues through 12:00 midnight. For more details, call the Convention Center at 585-3000.
