Big Bear Lake, CA, October 31, 2013 – The Village Streetscape Reconstruction Project is complete, and the public is invited to a grand reopening ceremony at 3 p.m. today at Copper Q (645 Pine Knot Avenue). City of Big Bear Lake officials will present before-and-after photos of the village that highlight major improvements made, such as heated sidewalks, seat walls, propane-fueled outdoor fire pits, street pavers, curbs, gutters, landscape developments, lighting, street signs, and decorative street crossings. Light refreshments will be served.
The six-month project began in April and was funded by grants, Measure T, Measure Y and local developer impact fees. Except for a few days around July 4th to accommodate visitors, work was done continuously to finish before winter.
