National Forests Recognize Veterans and Military Personnel With Fee Free Day on the Forests on November 11

In honor of America’s Veterans and Armed Services personnel, this Wednesday, November 11 will be a “Fee Free Day” on all national forests in Southern California. The National Forest Adventure Pass will not be required for visitors recreating in the San Bernardino, Angeles, Cleveland and Los Padres National Forests. Per San Bernardino National Forest Recreation Officer Fran Colwell, “Veterans Day is a great way to connect communities with public lands while honoring the sacrifices made by America’s Veterans and Armed Services personnel. The Fee Free Day is an opportunity to get outdoors and appreciate the open spaces and national treasures of our public lands here in Southern California.” The Veterans Day Free Day is observed each year on November 11, regardless of the day of the week. In addition to Veterans Day, the Southern California national forests also waive fees on National Trails Day in June and National Public Lands Day in September.
