More special events are coming to Big Bear Lake, pending today’s approval by the Board of Directors of the Big Bear Municipal Water District. Among those items that MWD will address in their 1pm meeting today are the Antique and Classic Boat Show, to be held at B’s Backyard BBQ docks in August’s fourth weekend, and the allowability of boat parking for up to 20 vessels at Swim Beach on the Fourth of July, to accommodate the Lou Gramm concert being hosted by the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District. The MWD Board, which meets at the MWD offices at 40524 Lakeview Drive, will also consider approval of a request from the U.S. Forest Service to assign the Juniper Point marina permit to the San Bernardino National Forest Association. At present, the marina is not active though, if transferred to the SBNFA, it could allow for lake programs offered through the Big Bear Discovery Center, which is in close proximity on the North Shore.
