Baldwin Lake, CA, May 11, 2014 – Investigators can’t say for sure what made a 39-year-old Barstow resident lose control of his motorcycle yesterday, in a fatal accident that slowed traffic for hours.
There was a Wind Advisory in place at the time of the incident, with conditions especially gusty on desert slopes.
On Saturday, May 10 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Jonpaul Vuiller was riding his Harley Davidson southbound on State Highway 18 in the Cactus Flats area north of Baldwin Lake when, for unknown reasons, he collided into the up-slope of the mountain. Vuiller was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lake Arrowhead California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
