Big Bear Lake, May 25, 2014 – The public is cordially invited to join veterans and families of service personnel and first responders, past and present to participate in the procession and ceremony at Veterans Park. on Monday, May 26th.
The Big Bear Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 1038 and The American Legion Post 584 will commemorate the sacrifices of the United States military personnel and those who have died in our nation’s service.
The keynote speaker will be Sergeant Major Christopher Nagle, USMC, active duty, from 29 Palms, VMU-3, MACG-38. A native of New Haven, Connecticut, Nagle enlisted in the Marine Corps in September of 1992 and attended recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, SC. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star and Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. with a bagpipe tribute performed by Dark Isle Piper, Tress Maksimuk.
