Big Bear Lake, CA, December 16, 2013 – The medical building at the corner of Fox Farm Road and Sandalwood Drive is going through some more changes. Gloria Wandell, who co-owns the building with her husband Mark and Dr. Richard Baumgartner, says they are quickly phasing out the Medical Arts Supplies and Wellness Center. Starting in January, the space will be leased out to General Practitioners. The physicians will be restructuring the interior.
The Wandells sold the pharmacy portion of their business to Walgreens in 2012, and hoped to continue selling medical supplies and equipment, but the already low reimbursement rates for Medi-Cal and Medicaid plummeted even further.
After operating for 20 years on Garstin Drive, the business spent over 12 years at its current location. With this long history of serving locals, Gloria said that they love their patients and that they were closing the store with a “heavy heart.”
The business is now referring patients to Palm Medical Supplies on Highland Avenue in San Bernardino, which can be reached by phone at (909) 425-0311.
