Bob Jackowski, Gus Gonzalez and Ty Warren will each compete to see who will raise the most money for this year’s coveted crown of Man About Town. Soroptimist International began the Man About Town campaign in 1994 to raise money for their chosen community causes. Funds raised from this year’s MAT campaign will go towards the project to stop pre-teen and teen violence. Each candidate chooses a theme for their campaign centering on fundraising events. Bob Jackowski’s “The Stooges” theme will include a red carpet night at the Oscars, a Man About Town Derby Day, and a 1930’s Black and White Ball. Gus Gonzalez is “El Zorro” featuring an evening of a Taste of Big Bear, an all day St. Patty’s Day “Luck of Zorro” event and an evening of Tequila Tasting. Ty Warren’s team features an Austin Power’s Increase the Peace theme that will feature the many faces of Ty Warren in five performances of a participatory theater experience. Additionally, Ty will feature an exclusive wine experience on the Rosenthal Estate in Malibu. The candidates have from now until April 17th to raise votes, at the cost of $1 each, to determine who will become the next Man About Town.
