Big Bear Lake, CA, July 11, 2013 – The County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint yesterday against a suspected child molester living in Big Bear Lake. Twenty-eight-year-old Samuel Kardos faces six felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child and two counts of sex or sodomy with a child under 10 years old. At the time of his booking, Kardos was already in custody at West Valley Detention Center on unrelated charges, and he’ll remain in custody there in lieu of $2,000,000 bail.
An arraignment hearing in this matter is set for today at San Bernardino County Superior Court.
Big Bear Sheriff’s Deputies began their investigation on June 15 in response to a report. The victims underwent forensic examinations at the Children’s Assessment Center in San Bernardino. Detectives allege that Kardos molested the two female juveniles on multiple occasions over a period of several months in 2012.
