Big Bear Lake, CA — World-class mountaineer–and, now, record holder for being the youngest person ever to summit Mt. Everest—Jordan Romero will be celebrated by the Big Bear community during today’s (June 9) Live Your Dreams Fair on the football field at Big Bear Middle School. The event begins at 4pm with the music of local reggae band Elevated Roots, as well as a number of booths, featuring activities and information on living your dreams, sponsored by local organizations. Friends and fans of 13-year-old Jordan will want to be on the BBMS field, located just south of Big Bear Boulevard between Georgia and Jeffries in Big Bear Lake, in time for his special arrival atop the Big Bear Lake Fire Department’s old fire engine at roughly 4:30pm. The Live Your Dreams Fair will also include a number of presentations to BBMS eighth grader Jordan, who will be accompanied by his climbing partners, dad Paul Romero and Karen Lundgren, and mom LeighAnne Drake. At 5:30pm, dinner will be available in the BBMS cafeteria, at a cost of $8 for adults and $5 for children, with proceeds to benefit Jordan’s charity. There will also be an opportunity to get autographs from Jordan prior to the Mt. Everest slide show, slated to begin at 7pm. All told, the Live Your Dreams Fair extends from 4 to 8pm, and is free of charge for those who don’t plan to participate in the dinner opportunity.
