Big Bear, Ca, June 27, 2011, 1:oopm –The Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District has been busy the last few months, and is looking forward to an eventful summer. According to General Manager Reese Troublefield, many exciting things are going on at the recreation and park district, and Troublefield wanted to share them with everyone. The District’s Fishing Camp just ended with 14 kids participating, sailing classes are underway with 6 registered participants, Art Camp started today with eight children enrolled, and Tennis Camp has 21 kids enrolled. Over at the Youth Center, 20 teenagers went down to Magic Mountain on a summer field trip, and even more are coming to Youth Center this summer. A Skate Camp has also started, with five children attending the first day, swimming lessons have started, and 51 kids registered for week one of Soccer Camp, resulting in a sold out camp. While Big Bear’s youth is getting active, the adults also are getting outside and enjoying Park and Rec’s Adult Golf Camp with seven adults signed up, water aerobics started with 13 adults at the first session, and the Senior Center is operating five days a week with steady attendance.
