Big Bear Lake, CA, May 6, 2013 – The Kiwanis Club of Big Bear Valley, the Bear Valley Unified School District and local school principals will honor students from across the Big Bear Valley in the annual Hope of America Awards program. The ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m. tonight at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center.
The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation established the Hope of America (HOA) award during the 1983-1984 administrative year to recognize students in elementary, middle and high school for leadership and service.
Today, the HOA award recognizes and encourages students who have demonstrated academic accomplishments, self-discipline, capacity for leadership and good character.
