Big Bear Valley, CA — Given icy roads and the likelihood of more weather this evening, some meetings and activities have been canceled. The MARTA Board of Directors meeting, to have taken place in Crestline at 1pm, has been canceled.
The meeting of the Advisory Commission of the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District has been rescheduled, and will instead take place at 5pm on Monday, January 25 at the Big Bear Senior Center. Also, all Rec and Park yoga classes with Claudia Eads have been canceled for the week. This evening’s youth basketball practices have also been canceled.
The Sierra Club Big Bear Group will not hold their meeting at the Big Bear Discovery Center this evening.
Last night’s informational meeting on the Conquer the Bear series was not held, due to the power outage, but will instead take place next Thursday, January 28, and will still be held at the Mountain Fitness Center at 7pm.
The Big Bear Library will be closing early at 2pm today. Patrons are asked to call 866-5571 on a day-by-day basis for this week’s operating schedule.
Also, just a reminder to parents, that students of Big Bear Middle School and Big Bear High School are being released 15 minutes early today, to allow bus drivers to arrive at the elementary schools on time.
All San Bernardino Valley College classes held at Big Bear High School have been canceled for this evening; no decision yet on Wednesday and Thursday classes.
Big Bear Disposal also alerts all residential customers that curbside service will only occur on streets that have been plowed and are safe for travel. If your trash or recycling pickup is missed due to the weather, Big Bear Disposal will return the following week. In the meantime, they are attempting to maintain their regular schedule, weather permitting.
