CalTrans has scheduled annual maintenance work for Highway 330 this month. Rather than do two-to-three weeks of flagging on the mountain road for routine maintenance, CalTrans will this year close the highway for two days, to allow crews safe access. On Wednesday and Thursday, May 13 and 14, Highway 330 will be under a full closure to allow for guardrail replacement and repair, drain cleaning, shoulder work, sign replacement and other necessary work. Also, on Monday, Tuesday and Friday of next week, there will be flagging from 8am to 3pm. CalTrans extends their thanks to the mountain communities for our patience and understanding during the closure, and reminds that both Highway 18 and Highway 38 will be available as alternate routes. Commuters are advised to plan ahead as, again, Highway 330 will be closed on May 13 and 14, from 8am to 3pm each day; and during these hours on May 11, 12 and 15, motorists can expect minimal delays and flagging, due to the large amount of guardrail work to be done by CalTrans.
