Big Bear, Ca, March 20, 2011, 3:00pm – A high wind warning remains in effect until 3:00am tomorrow morning. Winds will strenghten through this afternoon, reaching their peak late this afternoon through late tonight. According to the national weather service the strongest winds will be near ridge tops and on the north and east slopes, and in the desert areas surrounding the mountains. High winds have been reported in the Lucerne Valley and Apple Valley areas. The National Weather Service also warns motorists of driving in high profile vehicles, as the winds will make driving difficult. If you will be travelling through the desert areas, blowing dust and sand could reduce visibilty to near zero at times.
