Big Bear City, CA, August 2, 2014 – On Monday morning, the Caltrans paving project on Highway 38 reaches Maple Lane. Beginning at 8 am on Monday August 4th, you will not be able to turn up Maple from either direction.
This will not affect morning bus runs or drop-offs to Big Bear High School, however after the 8 am closure, drivers and buses will have to use an alternate route to access BBHS, Chautauqua High School, and Baldwin Lane Elementary. As of now, this closure is expected to remain in effect through the afternoon, so all three schools will have to be accessed via Baldwin Lane from SR 38.
