Big Bear Lake, CA, June 5, 2012, noon – Fire crews remain on scene this afternoon at the Golf Fire, a small, slow moving vegetation fire that was reported in the Moonridge Area east of Villa Grove this morning. John Miller of the US Forest Service told Big Bear News the small vegetation fire was east of Villa Grove down in a canyon and was less than 50 by 50 feet in size. Local fire agencies along with US Forest Service firefighters responded and quickly contained the fire. The fire was officially knocked down at 9:51am and a wet-line has been created around it. No homes or structures were threatened, and no injures were reported thanks to the efforts of firefighters.
