Big Bear, CA, September 5th, 2016 – Current business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs who would like to learn how to comply with California’s often complex tax laws are invited to attend a free Small Business Seminar and Resource Expo in Big Bear Lake on Thursday, September 15, 2016.
California State Board of Equalization (BOE) Member George Runner is sponsoring the event with Senator Mike Morrell, Assemblyman Jay Obernolte, San Bernardino County Supervisor James Ramos, San Bernardino County Assessor-Recorder Bob Dutton, the City of Big Bear Lake, the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, and the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center.
“Small businesses are a critical part of California’s economy,” said Member Runner. “Our goal is to help business owners be successful by ensuring they understand California’s complicated tax laws.”
Those looking for assistance with state and federal tax laws, as well as those who want to expand their business knowledge, will benefit from presentations given by representatives from the BOE, Employment Development Department, Franchise Tax Board, and Internal Revenue Service. Seminar topics include avoiding sales and use tax problems, employee versus independent contractor, recordkeeping, and forms of ownership.
