Big Bear, Ca March 25, 2011 5:00 pm – The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival involves at least 90 volunteers from the Big Bear community each year. For four days in September, the Festival invites filmmakers and guests from around the world to screenings, parties, and educational events supporting independent filmmaking. So many are involved, the organizers often don’t have a chance to see the films. Now the Festival, in its 12th year, will offer the Big Bear Film Society, an opportunity for residents and visitors in Big Bear to see an award winning film and talk with the filmmaker one Saturday evening each month prior to the Festival. The Film Society’s first screening will be Saturday evening, March 26, 7:00 pm at the Best Western Big Bear Chateau on Moonridge Road. The movie to be screened will be the mystery/thriller “Solitary” with writer and director Greg Derochie discussing his film. The Film Society is an opportunity to see a great movie, in an intimate and relaxed environment, with other supporters and fans of independent filmmaking.
