Big Bear Lake, CA, September 19, 2013 – The outdoors will be celebrated and environmental causes will be promoted at the Reel Rocks Tour Saturday night in the Village, and the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival at the PAC and Village Theaters Friday – Sunday.
Reel Rocks will host free screenings of climbing and adventure films at the corner of Village Drive and Pine Knot Avenue starting at 7:30 p.m. September 21. Following is the schedule for related movies at the Festival:

Bidder 70 is Tim DeChristopher, the student who monkey-wrenched a fraudulent Bureau of Land Management oil and gas leasing auction in December 2008. Bidding $1.8 million to save 22000 acres of pristine Utah wilderness, Tim brought the BLM to an abrupt halt in a stunning act of civil disobedience. In February 2009, the new Obama administration retroactively invalidated the entire BLM auction. Nevertheless, DeChristopher was federally indicted, facing up to ten years in prison and $750,000 in fines for his disruption of the illegal auction. Over the next two years, DeChristopher stepped up his activism and evolved into a climate justice leader, until his trial began on February 28, 2011. Bidder 70 is Tim’s journey from economics student to incarcerated felon.
