The Chamber of Commerce held their annual meeting on Tuesday June 2nd, 2015. It was well attended with over 120 in attendance. The program was highlighted by the presentations of the Business of the Year awards so called EBBIE Award for Excellence in Business. Big Bear Lake Brewing Company, Re Max Big Bear and Big Bear Helicopters were the recipients. Each business owner was on had to accept the awards and share a few words of wisdom regarding their success.

The highlight of the morning was presenting Summit Award to Dick Kun past President of the Snow Summit Ski Corporation. This new and perpetual award is a way to honor a special business that reaches, the top, the pinnacle, “The Summit” for the Big Bear Valley. As the announcement was made the room rose to a standing ovation as the Snow Summit management team took the stage. Dick Kun spoke about how important innovation and key management played into their success over the past 63 years. Dick Kun has been an innovator in the winter resort business for the past 50 years serving as President of the corporation and General Manager of the resorts.
