Sugarloaf, CA, April 11, 2014 – Five unlocked cars attracted thieves early Wednesday morning, near the intersection of Barton and Maple lanes in Sugarloaf. Sheriff’s deputies responded to multiple reports of two men rummaging through vehicles and taking property. The officers found a 22-year-old Big Bear City resident and a 19-year-old transient in possession of the stolen property, and took them into custody without incident. The suspects are being charged with petty theft, grand theft, possession of stolen property, and attempted auto theft; their arraignment hearing is today at San Bernardino County Superior Court.
