Update – Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Big Bear, Ca February 14, 2011 12:00 pm – The following is an update to the report about Friday’s motorcycle accident. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 6:00 pm on February 11. 36-year-old Gabriel Pomona was traveling within the speed limit, eastbound on North Shore Drive, when he swerved to avoid a pickup truck turning left on to Tinkerbell Avenue. Pomona lost his balance and was ejected from the motorcycle. He and the motorcycle collided with the truck. He was transported to Bear Valley Community Hospital, where he passed away from his injuries. The driver and the passenger in the pickup truck were not injured. No arrests were made and alcohol was ruled out as a cause of the accident.
