Big Bear, Ca, May 20, 2011, 8:00am – Butch Hancock, the world traveling troubadour from Lubbock, Texas, will be playing tonight in Big Bear Lake! Hancock whom Rolling Stone magazine describes Butch Hancock as “a raspy-voiced West Texas mystic,” will be performing at the Skeleton Key Folk Music Center, located in the Village across from the Peppercorn at 7:30pm. Opening the show will be local Big Bear folk group the Skeleton Key Band. The Skeleton Key Folk Music Center is dedicated to providing a fun and comfortable center for local musicians and music fans, young and old. Owner Rich Spaulding offers guitar lessons, weekly free concerts, affordable instruments, music accessories and more. Nearly every Friday and Saturday night from 7:30-11pm, the Skeleton Key Band plays their mix of folk, country, blues, classic rock and originals as well as offering the Center to local bands looking for an inexpensive place to host gigs, jam sessions, CD release parties and live recording space.
