Big Bear, Ca, May 31, 2011, 4:00pm – The burros will be making their grand return this year to many of the Old Miners events this summer. Old Miners will be partnering with Los Vaqueros de Los Montana’s Riding Club to introduce a new series of events, that will pay tribute to the “rich mining and ranching history of the Big Bear Valley.” This year on July 25th, 26th, and 27th there will be re-enactments of what it was like to be a Holcomb Valley prospector, there will be a junior rodeo, and a three day donkey baseball tournament. This weekend and coming Tuesday will be three separate fundraisers for the Old Miners Associations. The first is on Saturday, June 4th at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center, and is a Dinner Dance, with a country band, mystery prize auction at $25.00 for adults and $10 for children. On Sunday June 5th, the Old Miners will be hosting their Bowl-a-thon at the Bowling Barn at 1pm, and on Tuesday June 7th, the Old Miners will be having a Pizza Party for the Parades at the Village Pizza from 4pm to 8pm.
