[UPDATE: 2:30pm] – A vegetation fire continues burning north of Devore in the Pitman Canyon/Blue Cut Area. The fire is 5% contained, 350 acres have burned. Mandatory evacuations remain in place for Mathews Ranch Road. There are no other mandatory residential evacuations at this time. The City of San Bernardino Emergency Operations Center was activated to Level One at 1:00pm.

[ORIGINAL STORY] – Cajon Pass, CA, November 5, 2012, 12:45pm – The Forest Service has dispatched a second alarm for the brushfire that is burning in the Cajon Pass. The fire started at about 11am and has grown to about 200 acres. A SigAlert was issued and Interstate 15 is closed in both directions at Kenwood because of the fire. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for Mathews Ranch. Smoke may be visible from the mountain communities but the fire is not a threat to Big Bear Valley.
